I feel, and have felt for some time now, that husbands and fathers are often overlooked and underappreciated. I just wanted to thank all of you for just a few of things that you do on a daily basis that bless my life and the lives of other mothers, wives and children.
So, thank you for:
-Taking annual pictures and, even after being "done" after the first few shots, sticking through the entire photo session and smiling all the while.
-Playing with the kids when I am feeling burned out.
-Giving me space.
-Hugging me when I say I need space.
-Taking out the trash.
-Reading with the kids.
-Letting me pick the chick flick over the action flick.
-Talking to my parents via Facetime, Skype, Googlechat, etc.
-Laughing at me when I react a little too quickly to a disobedient/obstinate child.
-Asking what I would like for Christmas....in August.
-Breaking the "I will only get you one gift for Christmas" rule.
-Saying yes when I suggest we eat out, even though we should be saving the money.
-Saying no when I suggest we eat out, so we can save money.
-Asking me what is on my mind when I am restless at night.
-Holding me after I have a bad dream.
-Comforting the kids after they have had a bad dream.
-Brushing the kids teeth.
-Brushing your own teeth.
-Working out with me.
-Not working out with me.
-Letting me do all of my grocery shopping in the evenings so I don't have to haul along the little people.
-Telling me it's all in my head when I worry that people don't really like me.
-Listening to me when I say everything will be alright.
-Telling me everything will be alright, even when I don't want to hear it.
-Dreaming about our future together.
-Calling me during your lunch break.
-Telling me I am beautiful.
-Fulfilling your church callings.
-Worthily holding the Priesthood.
I am so glad that we have men on this earth to help balance us women out. We need you and we love you. Please remember that! I know the world and the media are trying to make you believe that you have no value, but you do. Keep being amazing, we appreciate it!
